Really great California omelette. We were lucky, line was inside, not outside the door for breakfast on a Tuesday. Friendly staff and cozy digs. Cash/debit only so be prepared for that. Worth a stop and will eat here again if the opportunity presents itself. The potatoes that come as a side to just about all their dishes are really good.

The food here is amazing, be prepared to queue but the wait is worth it!

A lovely brunch spot. Have to order on the front desk first. Food is really good just that I wish the seasoning of bay shrimps eggs Benedict could be more savory. Service is good and the staff is friendly. The restroom is in the back so you’d pass kitchen when you go, which is a bit strange. The restroom is narrow but pretty clean.

Wish Menu had # of M' Omelette eggs, 2 or 3?And 2 or 3 pieces of Cinnamon Swirl French Toast? And Burger Patty weight, 4 or 8 ounces? And all items online priced. And maybe a Plate stack warmer tube steamer ?Complaints about cold pancakes...And lack of flytrap in kitchen getting lots of comments!(Local Health Dept??)Grateful for the many Customer pics!Line was day after day repeatedly too long and too slow, so passed. Some day maybe...

NFL finals Sunday on Feb 2, coming from Pier 39 then trudged up hill on a mild wintry morning. I loved this place which overlooks a picturesque park at the crest of a hilly street with a traditional American inn diagonally across the intersection. The food is nothing short of amazing.

The food is very good, but be ready for a big line especially at a lunch time.

Mike is really nice and gave great recommendations. Smoothies are delicious. Love their french toast. They don't accept credit card but they do accept debit. They charge gratuity for parties 5 and more.

The food here was very good and the staff were nice. On the down side the restaurant was small and you should expect to queue for a while.

Food is amazing. Enjoyed the Dungeness crab specials. Staff is great. Expect a long wait outside. Once inside they are very efficient. Cash or debit card only.

Sad that they don’t have the house made jam/jelly readily available on the table anymore. The line is always long. Food is ok but not worth the wait.

It’s a tiny place in a corner next to Washington Square. Usually you’ll find a line inside and outside (if the line is only inside consider yourself lucky). Very near the Coit Tower (an idea for 1+1 tourist activity).. my dad said it’s the best breakfast restaurant he has ever gone to. I understand where he is coming from but.. as someone who works in San Francisco it’s a bit overpriced. Food is tasty and ingredients are fresh. Certainly not for people on strict diets; lot’s of breads, french toasts, pancakes, sandwich, burgers (there are salad and omelet options but the place is best known for the high calorie breakfast options). It’s certainly a place to check out for all those that appreciate the traditional American breakfast. Enjoy!

The food is amazing, and the portions are very satisfying. I would give it 5 stars if I didn't have to wait for 1 hour! But the food worth the wait. Recommended.

Went here on my sisters birthday. This place was really good.. I tried the skirt steak and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken that my sister ordered was very moist. The soup that we ordered was good for 2 people. Will come back to this place for special occasions.

Best breakfast in the neighborhood, with the drawback of having a continuously long line and being a bit too expensive. I'd recommend the baked goods. Also, show up at 7:45am to only wait 15 minutes and get in on the first wave.

Felt overhyped and not worth waiting an hour. Tried French toast, chicken sandwich, pancakes. It was good but wasn't great to wait for an hour.

Their banana pancakes are fluffy and a little on the savory side. It goes well with their house-made jam. The monte cristo is also good with their jam. There is usually a wait. The best time to go is during the weekday, closer to closing and when it is raining!

Saw the high reviews, so decided to try. Waited about 15min, so that wasn’t bad, service was good and friendly. They have a good system for turning tables, order at the counter then get served at your table. Cute and cozy place. The food was good, but not amazing. I would probably go here again, but to me, not worth waiting more than 15min for.

Extremely crowded, expect a long wait unless you arrive about half an hour before they open. Food is definitely delicious, with an amazing homemade feel to it. No healthy options whatsoever and no credit cards accepted.

Had about an hour wait on a Saturday. Loved my crab omelette... they didn’t skimp on the Brie, avocado, or crab! Big fan of the sour cream blueberry baked good as well. Small space but they make it work.

This place was worth the wait! My hubby and I waited outside for about 30 minutes just to get in. The place is small and cozy. We shared a stack of blueberry pancakes; I had scrambled eggs and he added a side of chicken turkey sausage. All of this was incredible! The portions are generous and we did not leave any scraps behind. We highly recommend this place.

Just a regular breakfast, we went early around 8:45 on a Thursday, there was no line but the food was expensive. Squeezed orange juice was like 5.50 and that’s definitely not fresh squeezed juice. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but it’s not a place where I would wait for more than 15 minutes and want to go back again. Slightly above average I’d say.

Such GOOD breakfast!!! I come here every time I visit San Francisco. Absolutely love their French toast sampler and the environment is great. Downside Is there is always a bit of a wait. Go with the mindset of waiting an hour to be seated. Food is outstanding tho and staff is quick. Also have delicious breads.

Looks like there is always a wait, but there's a good reason: tasty food and sensational service. We ended up waiting about an hour on Sunday but their banana nut french toast was super tasty. I added some of their breakfast potatoes with two sunny side up eggs, and washed it down with a large, freshly squeezed OJ. Oh, I'm in heaven!

Food and service were great. However, get there early (at least 20 minutes prior to opening time) or expect a one hour plus wait! Nothing is worth waiting in line for over an hour in my opinion...

We loved our meals. There was no wait line when we went in, which was about 11:30 am on a Friday morning. My husband had the famous MonteCristo and he thought it was the best he had ever eaten. It was like eating a sandwich made out of French toast. The raspberry preserve was also delicious. My dish was the California Omelette, it was super large and fluffy. The roasted potatoes had so much flavor and they had a nice crispiness on the outside! Everyone was really nice! Just know they don’t take credit cards, just cash or debit cards!

I’ve lived across the block for a few years and was always curious about the line outside. I can now attest that it is worth the wait in line if you have time. I went on a Saturday afternoon (busy time) and waited about an hour and half... then on a Thursday morning and waited 20 min. I went with family and we all got different things both savory and sweet, they all were delicious!!

This place is amazing! So much so that we ate there two mornings on a row while visiting. We ordered two breakfasts each both times we went and loved everything we tried. Staff was friendly and attentive. DEFINITELY give Mama's a try if you are in the Bay area.

We saw a line of people here so we decided to stop, everyone was very excited. They stated letting people in a few minutes after they opened, little by little until it was full. We waited about an hour. The food was good, but nothing that special. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun. I think it's the kind of place that you love if you're a local, but as someone who didn't grow up going to Mama's it didn't hold any nostalgia for me and was just kind of a normal breakfast that I waited a long time for

The portion a quite generous and quite good. We got the Crab Cake Benedict which were top notch. The second dish was the smoked salmon scrambled which was surprisingly good but would stick with the crab cake Benedict. Finally the chocolate cinnamon French toast is amazing especially if you have a sweet tooth if not stay away.
